Metropolises

2 biggest metropolises in my country are Ha Noi (the capital city) in the North and Ho Chi Minh City in the South. These 2 cities are great if you want to experience modern facilities with bustling atmosphere. Ha Noi lean towards traditional beauty and it is a hub of culture and politics

Metropolises

Ho Chi Minh City reflects Viet Nam's prosperity and modern. There are various of shopping centre and amusing destination in Ho Chi Minh City. This city is also known for the friendliness and hospitality of the people.

 

 

Landmarks

Out of the 2 big cities, I would recommend Hoi An city in Da Nang in the central of the country. Hoi An preserved its antique within the architectual style in every building. It a must when you come to Hoi An and get yourself a suit in the tailored shops.

Phu Quoc is regarded a precious raw gem. It is not just because of its natural beauty but also its high quality in services. Whenever coming to Phu Quoc, I always go for a swim and buy myself a special drink - a coconut.

 

Vietnamese Cuisine

Phở

Phở is the most popular noodle dish when people talk about Viet Nam especially in the North areas of Viet Nam. It is rice noodles serve with beef and special beef soup. You will never forget this dish once you try it!

Bánh Mì

Bánh Mì is also a symbol for our cuisine. Bánh Mì is basically baguette sandwich with various toppings (pork, pate, vegetables...). These basic ingredients made Bánh Mì unforgetable with its cheap price.

Bánh Xèo

It is the best food in the central area of the country. With the crispy texture outside along with mung bean sprout, shrimps served with special fish sauce. I can make this at home but it cannot be as beautiful as in restaurants.

Cơm Tấm

It is a rice dish but the rice in Cơm Tấm is special grains. It is served with grilled pork, eggs, Vietnamese sausage. Cơm Tấm is a symbol for Ho Chi Minh City whenever travel to this city.

These are top 5 dishes that you must try when you come to Viet Nam. The price in my country is unbeatable. Phở or CÆ¡m Tấm is either 2€, Bánh Mì is for 1.5€ and so on with other dishes. It is rare to see a traditional dish with a price over 5€.

Weather

North

In the North side, we would have distinct season. It is always baking hot and uncomfortable in the summer time from April to October and freezing cold from November to March. I would recommend travel to Viet Nam during winter time if you do not like to be sweaty in the with the humidity baking-hot-summer.

South

However, in the South, we only have dry and rain season and it feels like summer all year. It also feels different from the summer in the North which more comfortable. I would recommend to travel to the South during October to March so it would not be too hot.
